Welcome Porter Medics to our Team

17/3/2018

Comments

Let us introduce you to our Porter Medics crew 🚑 our local medics are on each of our Australian Led Kokoda tours and they use their first aid knowledge to look after any medical concerns for their fellow porters while they are trekking. They work closely with the Australian Guide and are constantly learning from them. You cannot miss them in their bright Medic Uniforms and we thank them for being such an important part of the No Roads family.

Kokoda College and No Roads Health

4/7/2016

Comments

A GREAT MILESTONE - We have been working with The KTF (Kokoda Track Foundation) over the years to support the development of The Kokoda College where Health Care Workers and Teachers could be trained close to their villages. Today Dan Hogarth and Nick Youings from No Roads - Health fly to PNG and on to Kokoda where they will conduct, on behalf of the KTF, an entry level first aid course for prospective Community Health Care Workers. 20+ participants have been nominated to to take part (5 sponsored by the No Roads Expeditions Foundation). This is the next step to providing a sustainable solution to the lack of health care in these villages. Travel safe Dan & Nick - we a super proud of you.

Blisters - How to Prevent and Manage

21/2/2016

Comments

The best thing you can do about blisters is prevent them in the first place. Whilst trekking on a Kokoda expedition prevention, identification and management of blisters is a task you must be prepared for. With the terrain, mud, hot weather, heavy rain and humid conditions, your feet have their work cut out for them to stay in tip top shape. Blisters are nasty and painful. You do not want to get them whilst trekking. The following video has some excellent advice about blisters and is worth watching.
