The content here is general guidance drawn from the experience of guides and trekkers. We believe it to be accurate when published, but trek itineraries, requirements, prices, visa rules, flights, insurance conditions and the state of the Track change over time, and expeditions differ in length, direction and leadership. Trekking the Kokoda Track is physically demanding and carries real risks, including injury, illness (including malaria) and difficult evacuation in remote terrain.
