PNG Visa and Passport Info for Trekkers

7/3/2016

Comments

Are you preparing for an expedition to Papua New Guinea in March, April or May 2016? If so, you will need to ensure you have your passport and a PNG visa both you set off.

For people trekking the Kokoda Track you will need a valid passport and tourist visa before entering PNG. This will need to be organised before you leave as you cannot obtain a visa upon arrival.

All the information you need to know including a sample visa application form can be found in our Preparation section under PNG visa on our Kokoda Expeditions website.

Kagi Boys Visit - Porters Down Under 2016

4/3/2016

Comments

Each year No Roads Expeditions brings out around ten of our wonderful porters from the Kokoda Track to spend several weeks with us back in Australia, to show them our homes and families, Melbourne and regional Victoria, and to have some fun with them. This is of course a big undertaking and we are very fortunate to have so many people involved who help out such as our Expedition Guides, past trekkers, No Roads Operations Staff, and many other friends and corporations who donate access to events.

This year our Kagi Boys Porters had another wonderful trip with many events and good times to remember. A selection of photos from those events can be seen in the photo gallery below. Terrance, Jack and the rest of the guys were very thankful to the Australian No Roads Expedition staff and past trekkers for inviting them over, looking after them and giving them such a wonderful wide range of experiences to take back and talk about with their Wontoks for years to come.

Many thanks to all the people who were involved in transporting, sleeping, feeding, organising, clothing and entertaining the guys for several weeks whilst they experienced aspects of Australian culture and popular tourist attractions. Until next time guys, cheers!
Many more photos below .....

Menari Fuzzy Wuzzy Faole Passes Away

3/3/2016

Comments

It is with a heavy heart that we let you know of the passing of Faole Bokoi in the early hours of this morning.

Faole was the last surviving Fuzzy Wuzzy Angel from Manari village on the Kokoda Track. Faole was a long-time friend of KTF, spending time with us over the years in Australia and always welcoming us with open arms into his home and community.

Faole passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. Our thoughts are with his family, especially his two sons, Saii and Bokoi. Rest in peace.
