Today our wonderful porters signed up for the 2016 trekking season bringing the total to around 80 personnel. Congratulations!
Each year the number of trekkers who have walked along the Kokoda Track in PNG is collated by the Kokoda Track Authority based on permits issued. The following table shows the number of trekkers by year and month. As you can see the number for 2015 is a slight increase from 2014.
Each year No Roads Expeditions brings out around ten of our wonderful porters from the Kokoda Track to spend several weeks with us back in Australia, to show them our homes and families, Melbourne and regional Victoria, and to have some fun with them. This is of course a big undertaking and we are very fortunate to have so many people involved who help out such as our Expedition Guides, past trekkers, No Roads Operations Staff, and many other friends and corporations who donate access to events. This year our Kagi Boys Porters had another wonderful trip with many events and good times to remember. A selection of photos from those events can be seen in the photo gallery below. Terrance, Jack and the rest of the guys were very thankful to the Australian No Roads Expedition staff and past trekkers for inviting them over, looking after them and giving them such a wonderful wide range of experiences to take back and talk about with their Wontoks for years to come. Many thanks to all the people who were involved in transporting, sleeping, feeding, organising, clothing and entertaining the guys for several weeks whilst they experienced aspects of Australian culture and popular tourist attractions. Until next time guys, cheers! Many more photos below .....
One of our Expedition Guides has made the front cover of the North East Regional Newspaper. Robyn is leading an expedition in September and welcomes you to join her expedition. Well done Robyn, great article and photos.

The best thing you can do about blisters is prevent them in the first place. Whilst trekking on a Kokoda expedition prevention, identification and management of blisters is a task you must be prepared for. With the terrain, mud, hot weather, heavy rain and humid conditions, your feet have their work cut out for them to stay in tip top shape. Blisters are nasty and painful. You do not want to get them whilst trekking. The following video has some excellent advice about blisters and is worth watching.
